Phil Kuarez: There is not HT in a box which plays either HD or Blu-Ray (BD) DVDs. You have to buy home theater - reciever and speakers, and HD and BD player(s).LG BH100 (~$1100) is the only universal player on the market, but of for less monay you can get both Toshiba HD-A2 player(under $300 plus 5 free HD movies) and Sony BDP-S300 (under $500). LG has too many bugs at this point - Toshiba and Sony re much better players.I suggest to get Onkyo recievers - tx-sr605 or 805 - equipped woth HDMI 1.3 - to take full advantage of new HD audio formats....Show more
Ramon Dahlheimer: blu-ray is so much better, although i can't get as many blu-ray movies here it has been easy enough to order them from the states or elsewhere. not only are they releasing new movies but they are also releasing old movies on to blu-ray too, they have quite a collection actually. planet earth was one of the first blu-ray things i got and i was blown away with how crystal clear the picture is. obv! iously the fact that the blu-ray discs store more data makes them more favourable too, we're going to see a whole lot more of special features etc which is great for movie fanatics. it will be interesting to see how they fill the discs....Show more
