Have you noticed that dentists in the past few years recommend way too many crowns to boost profits?

answers 0:Have you noticed that dentists in the past few years recommend way too many crowns to boost profits?answers 1:well yes and no. they do give away too many crowns for way too much, but its because alot of people need it. my dentist said that on a daily basis he gives at least 5 crowns a day. and the only reason why is because the people didn't take care of their teeth as children, so they need really good dental care now. thats really the only true reason they do it.answers 2:OMG YES!answers 3:I have been taking good care of my teeth since childhood with brushing many times a day and regular flossing, and have had no problems so it bothers me that five dentists since the recession started offered to crown many of my teeth. Curiously, every! dentist offers to crown different teeth. Since I have no cracks, no cavities, no dental problems, and nothing wrong on x-rays, I do not feel like having the tooth filed down to a stump and pay $3,000 to $7,000 as my copay. In the past when I had a few crowns placed, there was always something there like a large feeling, cavity, etc. Now the dentists only told me that because it is a back tooth, it is better to put a crown on it, just in case. I have quite white teeth and they are all straight, but they offered to crown all of my front teeth to make my smile brighter and to their "perfection." And then I decline and next time go to another dentist, and he or she offers crowns on different teeth, also for "protection" reasons and not...answers 4:because I have problems. Just pay the thousands of dollars and they will start working on the crowns immediately. If there was a consensus and at least two dentists recommended crowns on the same teeth, I would not have any doub! ts. But it feels fishy to me as the five dentists together ba! sically wanted to have most of my teeth crowned in a hurry, decide now and he will start filing down the teeth immediately. Again, this has never happened before the recession and there are no changes visual, x-ray or by examination in my teeth. Are dental revenues so low now? What do you think?...
