Phil Kuarez: Actually, the audio hardware is there, but your operating system has either corrupted or misplaced the driver info to identify it.1st step - DON'T PANIC. Take a deep breath & relax, you can fix this.2nd step - Activate your anti-virus program and scan your hard drive (a virus will cause problems like these more often than anything, so cleaning out any viruses is always a good first step). If you don't have one, you should definitely go and get one (Norton Anti-Virus is not recommended)3rd step - Identify the brand and model of your laptop, and write this down to a piece of paper.4th step - Go to the manufacturer's website, find the section for downloads and find your model.
